Stage 1. Requirements Gathering & Usability Audit
Initiated the project by analyzing the existing digital presence of the school and foundation. Conducted stakeholder interviews with administrators, teachers, and staff to identify key needs and expectations. The audit highlighted gaps such as outdated navigation, limited access to academic information, and lack of trust-building features for potential donors and parents.
Stage 2. Design Strategy & Information Architecture
Formulated a clear strategy that emphasized transparency, accessibility, and professionalism. Developed a structured information architecture to ensure that parents, students, and donors could easily find essential resources—such as school profiles, foundation programs, academic updates, and donation channels. Designed a roadmap to prioritize urgent improvements while planning long-term scalability for future features.
Stage 3. Prototype Development
Wireframing: Redesigned the website layout to streamline navigation, simplify content discovery, and highlight important institutional values. Ensured the flow was user-friendly for both local visitors and international donors.
High-Fidelity Prototyping: Created detailed mockups in Figma that translated the strategy into a visually engaging website. The prototypes emphasized credibility with a balance of modern web aesthetics and Islamic design nuances.
User Interface Design: Established a consistent visual identity with calming colors, clear typography, and structured layouts. Integrated visual elements that reflected the school’s mission and the foundation’s commitment to education and community service.
Stage 4. User Testing & Refinement
Facilitated user feedback sessions with teachers, students, and foundation staff to validate design effectiveness. Gathered insights on navigation clarity, readability, and donation flow accessibility. Iteratively refined the prototypes, ensuring the website not only looked professional but also aligned with the values of trust, knowledge, and service.
Stage 5. Implementation & Deployment
Collaborated with the development team to implement the design using modern frameworks. Ensured smooth integration of dynamic content sections for news, academic updates, and donation management. Supported the deployment process and conducted quality assurance testing to ensure the website performed seamlessly across devices.
OUTCOMES
Through this comprehensive project, I gained experience in institutional website design, information architecture, and stakeholder-centered development. The Al-Khusyu website successfully positioned the school and foundation with a professional digital presence, enhancing credibility, accessibility, and engagement with both local and global communities.
