Stage 1. Market Research & Usability Audit
Initiated the project by conducting research on existing villa rental platforms and identifying user pain points through heuristic evaluation and competitor benchmarking. The audit revealed challenges such as complex booking flows, limited filtering options, and lack of trust signals for buyers and renters. Insights from potential users emphasized the need for transparent information, simple search mechanisms, and secure communication with villa owners.
Stage 2. Design Strategy & Roadmap
Formulated a design strategy that prioritized seamless villa discovery, reliable property details, and smooth communication features. Developed a roadmap separating short-term goals—such as robust search filters, villa detail pages, and WhatsApp integration—from long-term enhancements like secure online payments, reviews, and personalized recommendations.
Stage 3. Prototype Development
Wireframing: Designed key flows for villa search, property browsing, and owner contact features. Focused on intuitive navigation and reduced complexity in the booking inquiry process.
High-Fidelity Prototyping: Created detailed prototypes in Figma showcasing modern layouts with immersive villa imagery, clear property details, and engaging call-to-action elements.
User Interface Design: Established a premium visual identity by using elegant typography, a sophisticated color scheme, and visually rich content to highlight each villa’s unique value. Ensured the interface resonated with both local and international users seeking rentals or investments.
Stage 4. User Testing & Iteration
Conducted usability testing with prospective renters, villa owners, and investors. Gathered feedback on the clarity of search filters, property presentation, and communication channels. Iteratively improved navigation flows, optimized loading speed in prototypes, and refined the visual hierarchy to increase trust and conversion potential.
Stage 5. Development & Deployment
Collaborated with developers to integrate the ReactJS frontend with a Laravel-based backend. Ensured dynamic villa listings, user authentication, and real-time WhatsApp contact features were implemented smoothly. Conducted end-to-end testing across devices to guarantee responsiveness and performance before the official launch.
OUTCOMES
This project strengthened my expertise in designing and developing full-stack platforms tailored for property rental and sales. The RoyaleVilla platform successfully delivered a professional, user-friendly, and trustworthy digital marketplace, enhancing visibility for villa owners while simplifying the search and booking experience for users.
